Proposition 65 Declaration Nilfisk A/S Kornmarksvej 1 DK-2605 Brøndby Denmark Tel.: +45 43 23 81 00 Fax: +45 43 42 89 18 e-mail: mail@nilfisk.com www.nilfisk.com The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, better known by its original name of Proposition 65, requires that the State of California publish a list of chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. This list, has grown to include approximately 1000 chemicals since it was first published in 1987. Businesses must notify Californians about significant amounts of chemicals in the products they purchase, in their homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment. By providing this information, Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about protecting themselves from exposure to these chemicals. The Proposition 65 regulation affects all Nilfisk products distributed throughout the 50 states. All products produced on or after August 30, 2018, and sold in (or into) California, must provide consumer warnings prior to the time of retail sale of the product. As a result, Nilfisk has implemented a warning label, with the following wording: “WARNING - Cancer and Reproductive Harm - www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.” Nilfisk products are labelled with this warning as chemicals such as Lead (Pb, CAS number: 7439-92-1), Cadmium (CAS number: 7440-43-9), Bisphenol A (CAS number: 80-05-7), DIDP (CAS number 26761-40-0), Antimony Trioxide (CAS number: 1309-64-4), which can cause cancer and reproductive harm respectively, can be found in our products. Although some of the chemicals on the Proposition 65 list are also restricted by European legislations such as REACH, RoHS or POP, which Nilfisk products comply with, these chemicals may be present below the European compliance limits which are considered safe or exemptions exits (e.g copper alloy containing up to 4 % lead by weight is allowed and considered a safe limit in Europe), why Nilfisk is labelling with the Proposition 65 warning. The current Proposition 65 list is available via the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA). Nilfisk supports the UN 2030 Agenda and is committed to impacting Sustainable Development Goal 3.9 by working on restricting or substituting the use of hazardous chemicals in order to enhance the protection of human health and the environment Nilfisk A/S June 2023
